The new, larger Christy Sports store provides a spacious showroom and replaces the current location on Academy.
LAKEWOOD, Colo. – May, 29. Christy Sports, today, announces the opening of a new store in Colorado Springs, and the closure of its existing location.
The new Christy Sports store in Colorado Springs at 5294 N Nevada Avenue opened today, May 29th. This convenient new location in the University Village Colorado Shopping Center is easily accessible from I-25 and offers a larger footprint, ample parking, and a spacious floor plan. “We’ve been serving Colorado Springs since 1992, and we are definitely excited to invite the community to check out our new location,” remarked Dan Fox, Vice President of Operations. “I think our customers are going to welcome the change. Instead of multiple levels and different rooms to navigate like the old location, the new store will have a single level, 8,400 square foot showroom.” The larger space alone allows for a wider product selection, but the ability to display everything on one level increases the selection even more.
Every aspect of the new location is particularly well suited for the patio furniture department; Christy Sports’ primary focus during the summer months. The spacious showroom features energy efficient LED bulbs that supplement the ample natural light, providing customers with a better idea of how the furniture will look in their outdoor space. “We are eager to see our customers’ reactions after browsing through our naturally lit showroom and seeing the expanded selection of outdoor furniture and accessories,” said Mike Lloyd, the Colorado Springs store manager.
Once the patio furniture season ends, the increase in usable square footage also allows for expansions in every winter department, giving customers more options than ever before. “Our new rental department will house a larger inventory of demo and test equipment, and we can also hold more season rentals,” Lloyd stated. “In addition, our comprehensive selection of skis, snowboards, boots and accessories, will now grow to include more models from the industry’s top manufacturers.”
Customers will find the same high level of service at the new location, no matter whether they are looking for information about outdoor furniture, expert boot fitting, or ski and snowboard gear and apparel. “Our combined experience in the patio furniture and ski and snowboard industries is unequaled in Colorado Springs, and I’m happy to say that customers will be greeted by the same friendly and knowledgeable staff and expert customer service they’ve come to expect,” Lloyd said. The long-time home of Christy Sports in Colorado Springs at 1808 N Academy Blvd is now closed.
