Executive Bios

From the top down, ask the Christy Sports Family is passionate about the ski and snowboard industry, cost which fuels their collective desire to continually improve the company as well as the industry as a whole.

Patrick O’Winter — CEO

Patrick O’ Winter is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Christy Sports. He sets the vision and oversees the operation of Christy Sports. His direction has grown the company to include more than 40 retail stores. In 1990, Patrick became the president of Sports Stalker and later helped merge it into Christy Sports. His extensive background includes executive positions in manufacturing, scientific research, and investment banking. He holds both a MBA and a Master’s degree in Science from the University of Paris, France. He is an avid skier and mountain climber.

Keith Liefer — Chief Operating Officer

Keith Liefer is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Christy Sports. He oversees all marketing, purchasing and rental operations for Christy Sports. He started with Sports Stalker as a rental technician in 1973, and worked his way up the ranks to Vice President. When Sports Stalker joined the Christy Sports family, he took on the additional responsibility as chief operating officer. He attended the University of San Diego and Riverside Community College. He enjoys skiing, snowboarding and, all things outdoors.

Liz Avery — Chief Financial Officer

Liz Avery joined Christy Sports in 2010. In her current role, she oversees the direction of the company’s finance, accounting, treasury, human resources and IT functions. Liz attended Executive MBA courses at the University of Chicago, holds a M.S. degree in finance from the University of Colorado at Denver and a B.B.A. degree in accountancy from the University of New Mexico. Liz enjoys Skiing and ice skating.

Thomas O’Winter — Vice President of Merchandise

Thomas has been working with Christy Sports for over 8 years, and currently manages a team of buyers. His direction leads the company’s buying procedures and ensures the right product mix in the stores. Thomas received his MBA from the University of Colorado, Denver, and his B.A. Degree in Communications from Colorado State University. Thomas is a former ski racer as well as an avid snowboarder and mountain biker.

Dan Fox — Vice President of Operations

As VP of Operations, Dan works directly with the store managers, price ensuring a positive retail experience at every location.  Dan has been with Christy Sports for over 20 years, holding numerous positions including Director of Front Range Operations, regional manager, and store manager. In his free time he enjoys skiing, biking and golfing.

Bob Dapper — Director of Mountain Operations

Bob oversees the profitability, staffing and operations for over 20 mountain locations. He has worked primarily in the ski industry, and has been with Christy Sports for over 20 years. Bob received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Denver with a double major in Psychology and Physiology. He enjoys bike riding, running and skiing.

Brian Sullivan — Regional Manager of Summit County and Winter Park

Brian has been with Christy Sports for over 14 years, and he currently oversees 13 stores in Summit County and Winter Park. His job responsibilities include budgeting, staffing, training employees, and day-to-day operations. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado in Geography. He enjoys skiing, cycling, snow shoeing, and being with friends and family.

Gordon Wade — Director of Internet Commerce

Gordon Wade has been with Christy Sports for more than 29 years. He oversees all aspects of the company’s online revenue stream including retail and rental as well as the company’s risk management program.  He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah in Journalism and Marketing. Gordon is a former ski instructor and is an accomplished skier and biker.

Randy England — Director of Marketing

Randy manages all facets of marketing for the company including branding, media campaign development and implementation, as well as online and local marketing initiatives. He has been with Christy Sports for over 11 years. He received his B.S. in Broadcast Communications and Mass Media from the State University of New York at Oswego. Randy relocated to Colorado from the East Coast to pursue his passion for skiing and mountain biking.

Bud Phillips — Human Resource Director

Bud is responsible for overseeing all matters relating to employees of Christy Sports.  After attending the MBA program at Georgia State University, he received a Juris Doctor Degree from Atlanta Law School with an emphasis on employment law.  Relocating to Steamboat Springs, Bud joined Sport Stalker as Human Resource Manager in 1984. Bud enjoys skiing, golf, mountain biking.
