Christy Sports Opens New West Vail Location in Former Sports Authority Space

VAIL, Colo. – Christy Sports LLC is pleased to announce the opening of its newest store in Vail, Colorado.  Taking over the space previously occupied by The Sports Authority within the West Vail Mall, the new store is located at 2161 N Frontage Road.  The new location represents the second store in Vail and fourth store in the Vail Valley for Christy Sports, complementing its already established Vail Village, Beaver Creek and Avon locations.

“We’re very excited to take over the former Sports Authority location and have remodeled the space to reflect the Christy Sports brand.” stated Jay Restrepo, Christy Sports West Vail Store Manager. “We are thrilled to offer customers an additional location where they will find a knowledgeable staff to provide them with great winter sports products and services.”

The newly remodeled location is a full service ski and snowboard shop, complete with retail, rental and repair services, including a huge selection of discounted previous year apparel.  Additionally, the new store will carry a wide array of après ski footwear including Merrell, Sorel and The North Face.  During the summer, the store will transition into a full service bike shop, offering rental and repair services as well as variety of retail bikes and accessories from Trek and Scott.

“We’ve had our eye on opening a new store in West Vail for some time now,” said Jeff Evans, Christy Sports Vail Valley Regional Manager. “Our Vail Village store has been serving tourists and the resort community for years and we are excited to open a second location that is not only convenient for tourists, but local Vail residents as well.”

The West Vail location will provide ample parking and easy access from North Frontage Road off Interstate 70, and is just steps away from Vail’s free year round shuttle service. The store is open daily from 8:00am – 6:00pm, and will extend to regular ski season hours of 8:00am – 8:00pm in the coming weeks.
