LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Oct. 15, 2010 – Christy Sports (www.christysports.com) and Eldora Mountain Resort (http://www.eldora.com) are teaming up to offer parents discounted childrens ski rentals and passes for the upcoming season through the Gear & Grow program.
The award winning Gear & Grow program includes an Eldora Child Season Pass and a Christy Sports Season Ski Rental beginning at $189. Anytime during the ski season, parents can exchange equipment as their child grows for gear that fits and can also upgrades equipment as the child becomes a better skier. The program is available for children ranging from ages six to 12, and equipment upgrades are available including snowboards and performance ski packages.
“Kids never stop growing and that is often a problem for parents who are faced with having to upgrade ski equipment that either no longer fit or matches the child’s ability,” said Dan Fox, Front Range operations director at Christy Sports. “Each year, the Gear & Grow program becomes more and more popular as parents leverage this affordable option for their families. Eldora is a perfect partner for this program as they are known for being a family resort and have a great environment for children who are learning how to ski. Along with its family atmosphere, the resort is also just west of Boulder, which is a short distance from Denver, and allows consumers to avoid the traffic nightmares often found on I-70”
Rental equipment can be picked up between now and Oct. 24, 2010 at Christy Sports and returned by April 17, 2011. This award winning program is currently in its 6th year and is available from any of the following Christy Sports locations: Boulder, Fort Collins, Flat Iron, Denver west and Denver Southwest stores. It is also available for purchase in person at Eldora Mountain Sports or by phone at 303-440-8700.
Eldora will also be offering a bus service from the Christy Sports Littleton location at 8176 West Bowles Ave. to the ski resort on select Saturdays during the ski season including: Dec. 12, Dec. 18, Jan. 8, Jan. 15, Jan. 22 and Jan. 29.
For $20, riders will receive a roundtrip bus ride, a daily ski rental from Christy Sports and a lift ticket for skiing that day. The bus service will leave the Christy Sports location at 8 am and will return at 4 pm resulting in a cost-effective way to enjoy a day of skiing at the resort. Gear & Grow participants and Eldora season pass holders will receive one free bus trip. Bus riders 18 years and under will need to sign a release waiver, and children 12 years and under will need to be accompanied by a parent. Customers interested in the bus service, should visit the Christy Sports Littleton location or call 303.972.0432.
Rob Linde, marketing director at Eldora Mountain Resort, is excited about the bus service and is also anticipating another successful year for the program. ‘This program is very appealing to parents who are looking for a way to save money this ski season. Not only will kids not grow out of the gear, but with our new bus service, we are making it convenient for families to get to our resort. Christy Sports as been a great partner and we are looking forwarding to continuing our relationship with them, and together expanding ways to further establish the Gear & Grow program.”
